pico de gallo

Pico de gallo is a fresh salsa made from diced tomatoes, onion, and peppers, perfect for serving over tacos, burritos, bowls, or to eat with chips!

Ingredients

  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped white onion
  • 1-2 jalapeño or serrano pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro leaves, no stems
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • kosher salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped red bell pepper, (optional)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)

Directions

  1. In a bowl combine all ingredients.
  2. Let it marinate in the refrigerator at least an hour for best results.
